CCMH is a team oriented organization committed to meeting medical needs in a patient-centered environment. We are proud to provide our services in a rural setting where we are able to give one-on-one attention to our patients and follow each patient through his/her individual course of care. To us, those we care for are more than patients, they are our family, friends and neighbors.
Cedar County Memorial Hospital can provide critical care during life-threatening situations, including heart attacks, broken bones, accidental injuries, and other emergencies. This Level III Certification is extremely important in non-metropolitan areas such as ours when time critical issues arise such as a stroke. Evidence has shown that patients treated within the first 90 minutes of the onset of stroke symptoms with t-PA (Recombinant Tissue Plasminogen Activator (t-PA also known as rt-PA), a clot “buster” to allow the body to restore blood flow and hopefully destroy the thrombus (or clot) that lies within the blood vessel, the better the outcome and recovery may be. Treatment after the initial 90 minute threshold seems to have poorer outcomes and greater resulting permanent disability.
Staff are certified for Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Advanced Trauma. Radiology (CT and X-Ray) and Laboratory Services are available 24 hours.
