Qualified candidates will have the skills, training, and experience to: Perform patient initial and ongoing occupational therapy evaluations in accordance with state and AOTA standards of practice;
develop and follow through on individualized “Plan of Care” for each patient based on initial and ongoing evaluations, including short and long-term goals, collaboration demands of other staff members, and required patient and caregiver involvement; accurately document patient progress timely and in accordance with approved medical and facility documentation procedures and protocols; provide prevention therapy to maintain functional skills; instruct patients in energy conservation, joint protection, safety techniques for sensory loss, and transferring and visual field deficits; instruct patients' families in personal care for patients, especially proper transfer techniques to avoid back strain. Additional duties will include those within the realm of the OT field of knowledge and ability. Formal education that includes a degree in Occupational Therapy with a minimum of one year of experience required. Qualified candidates will have a current, unencumbered license in Occupational Therapy, excellent patient and co-worker communication; organizational, time management, and computer/EMR skills a must.
