HIM Manager
Full time managerial position in our HIM Department. Duties include, but not limited to, maintains the Health Information Management department in accordance with departmental policies and procedures; keeps statistical information and distributes this monthly; performs utilization review as needed on all inpatient and some observation stay; performs credentialing and reappointment of physicians for all staff categories; sits on various committees as required or requested, performs medical staff coordinator functions and maintains minutes for the Medical Staff; performs quality assurance and other reviews quarterly and/or as deemed necessary; performs inpatient and ambulatory surgery coding and abstracting; oversees employees and departmental functions; develops, revises and maintains department policy and procedures; works closely with the Business Office to ensure financial payments are met; performs chart analysis and solutions for problem areas; provides educational information for employees and/or physicians on changes or updates to the claims processing system; maintains the Master Patient Index; prepares reporting for IDI and other entities in a timely fashion and performs utilization review as needed.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education: Must possess a RHIT and/or RHIA certification, which is current.

Licensure: RHIT or RHIA.

Previous Experience: Managerial experience preferred in a hospital setting.
