Infection Control

The Infection Prevention Department's mission is to influence, support and improve the quality of healthcare throughout the hospital and provide management of infection control.

The Infection Prevention Department establishes policy and procedure guidance that addresses surveillance, outbreak investigation, nosocomial infections, isolation precautions systems, principles of cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of medical devices and other patient care equipment, hand hygiene, and minimizing occupational hazards associated with the delivery of healthcare.

The Infection Prevention Committee, through its physician members, has been delegated the authority by the Board of Trustees, the Administration, and the Medical Staff to institute any appropriate control measures when there is reasonable possibility of danger to any patient, visitor or personnel.
